Sacramental Program (for Children)

Our Sacramental Program is offered as a collaborative process that is parish-based, family-centred, and school-supported. We offer it once each year, is open to children who have already been baptised and are in Year 2 or above.

The Sacramental journey at Our Lady of the Rosary, Kellyville, begins with Baptism and continues with Reconciliation in Year 2, Holy Communion in Year 3, and Confirmation in Year 6.

Currently we are moving to only have face-to-face sessions to prepare a child for each Sacrament. (This will commence for reconciliation on Semester 2)

Reconciliation

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we celebrate Christ’s abundant love and mercy, made present through the priest.

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’” (John 20:21-23).

Child must be Baptised and be in Year 2 or above.

Preparation for the sacrament will include 1 Parent Session and 5 preparation classes which includes the rehearsal prior ceremony.

Sacrament will be received on November 27th and December 4th.

Registrations for Year 2 students will be open on Sept 6th, where you will be able to decide your preferable date, depending on limited church capacity.

First Holy Communion

At the heart of our faith, stands the Eucharist. Each time we receive the Bread of Eternal Life, we celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ and deepen our union with Him.

“In all truth I tell you if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise that person up on the last day.”—John 6:53-54

Child must be Baptised, have received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation and be in Year 3 or above.

Preparation for the sacrament will include 1 Parent Session and 5 preparation classes which includes the rehearsal prior ceremony.

Sacrament will be received on Sundays 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th of June.

Register your child here, where you will be able to decide your preferable date, depending on limited church capacity.

conf

Confirmation

We celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation remembering the special outpouring of the Holy Spirit granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.  Through the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism, the Bishop confirms our Baptism with the fullness of the Holy Spirit and strengthens us to follow Christ more closely.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.” – Acts 2:4

Child must be Baptised, have received the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, and be in Year 6 or above.

Preparation for the sacrament will include 1 Parent Session and 5 preparation classes which includes the rehearsal prior ceremony.

Sacrament will be received on Sept 18th, 19th, 20th.

Registrations for Year 6 students will be open on June 21st, where you will be able to decide your preferable date, depending on limited church capacity.
