Sacramental Program (for Children)
Our Sacramental Program is offered as a collaborative journey that is parish-based and family-centred. The program is offered once each year and is open to children who have already been baptised and are in Year 2 or above.
The Sacramental journey at Our Lady of the Rosary, Kellyville, begins with Baptism and continues through the following stages:
Reconciliation – Year 2
First Holy Communion – Year 3
Confirmation – Year 6
Through each sacrament, we seek to support children and their families as they grow in faith and deepen their relationship with Christ and the Church. The involvement and commitment of parents throughout this journey are essential and required.
PREPARATION SESSIONS FOR ALL SACRAMENTS:
To support children and families throughout this important journey, there will be one parent information Session and five Catechism Sessions for the child and at least one parent.
All six sessions are mandatory to fulfil the requirements for celebrating the Sacrament and will run for approximately 1 hour, with weekly activities and homework to be completed at home as part of the child’s preparation.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a beautiful and important journey as children prepare to receive their First Holy Communion. Through their preparation, children are encouraged to reflect on how their faith can help them make better choices and decisions, treat others with greater kindness and compassion, and build stronger and more loving relationships with their family, friends, and community.
Children are invited to recognise how living out Jesus’ teachings can help them become the best version of themselves and grow closer to God and to others.
To be able to start this program, children must be baptised and be in Year 2 or above.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated on:
Wednesday, 25 November 2026
Thursday, 26 November 2026
Registrations will open on 21 September and close on 12 October 2026.
Once registrations are open, please register your child here. You will be able to select your preferred ceremony date and preferred day for the weekly sessions, subject to limited capacity.
Sacrament of First Holy Communion
At the heart of our faith stands the Eucharist. Each time we receive the Bread of Eternal Life, we celebrate the death and Resurrection of Christ and deepen our union with Him.
We help children and families understand the importance of the Eucharist in our Catholic faith and the profound meaning of receiving Christ in Holy Communion.
Through this journey, we encourage families to recognise the Eucharist as a beautiful way of expressing our gratitude and thanksgiving to God, while growing in faith and deepening our relationship with Christ.
To be able to start this program, children must be baptised, have received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation and be in Year 3 or above.
Registrations for First Holy Communion this year are now closed.
We thank you for your interest and look forward to welcoming you and your family next year.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation is an important step in a child’s journey of faith. It is a time for them to grow closer to God, strengthen their relationship with Christ, and deepen their understanding of the Holy Spirit.
At Pentecost, the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit and given the courage to share their faith. In the same way, the sacrament of confirmation is an opportunity for a child to grow closer to God, discover the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and become more confident in living out their faith.
Confirmation is not simply something a child completes; it is an invitation for them to take greater ownership of their faith and to discover how they can live like Jesus through their school, friendships, family, and community.
Registrations for Confirmation this year are now closed.
We thank you for your interest and look forward to welcoming you and your family next year.
